Democrats Are Trying to Redefine Themselves Again - This Time As Responsible Government

If one studies politics in the US for long enough it is amazing to watch political parties do a complete 180. Many Democrats, which only a few years ago considered themselves liberals are not turning socialist. It is rather amazing, because the definition of a "liberal" is more in line with our founding fathers, and they were more libertarian than anything resembling the Democrat Party today.

Further, the interference from the left into free-enterprise and control, give-aways, and promises to the masses is indeed nothing short of a socialist manifesto. The Democrats state: "Republicans say they are against big government but when they are in power they expand the government's control more than the Democrats."

Well, sure we see that point, but most Republicans did not approve of the recent expansion of government or expenditures during the last four years of the Bush Administration when the Democrats controlled the Congress and Senate. To blame such expenditures on the Bush Administration is incorrect and severely misleading, in reality to state that is a misrepresentation and complete falsehood.

But the media, along with the Democrats maligned everything President Bush did and even accused him of Global Warming. In reality if we consider the CO2 output by China, that was something the Clintons and Al Gore both cleared the way for.

The expansion of government under President Bush in the realm of FEMA, DHS and such was due to the need to protect the US citizens after 911 and due to bad Hurricane Seasons. So, although Government's number one job is to protect the people, folks were upset with the growing of government. Indeed, the growth of government is perhaps the opposite of what Ronald Reagan Republicans stood for.

The government must protect the American people, so if there is a falling down on that "job one" or a neglecting of that requirement, then the size of those agencies and their strength to serve us must be upgraded; such as securing our borders, preventing attacks, etc.

Now the Democrats and Media is reframing the reality and telling us that they are the party of responsible government; if only that were true, it would be wonderful.

Not sure whom the Left is trying to fool, but the scary thing is that they are fooling themselves, and that quite frankly is very dangerous. Please consider this.
